For nearly 80 years, the Chevy Suburban has set American standards of rugged, heavy-duty excellence. The 2013 Chevy Suburban for Glendale Heights, Bloomingdale, Schaumburg, and Glen Ellyn marks the 80th anniversary of the first Suburban produced in 1933. A lot has changed in the last century, but the Chevy Suburban has remained one of the longest lasting, most dependable vehicles on the road. The 2007 model marked the eleventh and current generation for the Chevy Suburban. These newer models have been redesigned with a more modern, less boxy body style. There are reports that GM may redesign the Chevy Suburban for 2013, but no major exterior modifications are expected. All signs point to another great Suburban model in the near future.

The 2013 Chevy Suburban Will Utilize the GMT900 Platform

General Motors and Chevy have released information stating that the 2013 Chevy Suburban, which will be available at Sunrise Chevrolet near Bloomingdale, Schaumburg and Glen Ellyn, will be the latest model to use the GMT900 platform. Other SUVs to use this platform include the Chevy Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade, and GMC Yukon. The projected dimensions for the 2013 Suburban have it being slightly larger than previous models, giving this SUV a bit more passenger space in the second row.

Speculative reports also indicate that the 2013 Chevy Suburban will pack a 5.3L V8 engine that will produce 320 hp, with a six-speed automatic transmission coming standard on all trim packages. Another advantage of the all-new Suburban, especially during winter months in Chicago, is all-wheel drive. Additionally, one aspect Chevy hopes to improve in 2013 is the Suburban’s fuel economy. With an EPA-estimated 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway on the current model, drivers can look forward to their fuel budgets stretching a little further in 2013.
